Trenton beats Portland to tighten playoff race
PORTLAND, Maine - Zach McAllister tossed 72/3 strong innings to lead the Trenton Thunder to a 5-2 win at Portland in the Eastern League last night.
Coupled with Reading's win at New Britain, the victory moved the Thunder within one game of New Britain in the race for the final playoff spot in the North Division.
Eduardo Nunez went 2 for 4 with two RBIs for Trenton, including the go-ahead run in the eighth inning.
