Angels rally past Yankees again
It was the Angels' second straight comeback win over the Yanks.
Brandon Wood connected for a two-run homer during the Angels' fifth-inning rally, Howie Kendrick capped it with a two-run single, and Bobby Abreu drove in three runs against his former team. The two-time defending AL West champs lead the majors with 26 comeback wins, one more than the Yankees.
For the seventh time in the Angels' last eight games, they fell behind by at least four runs. And for the fourth time, they won - including Friday night's 10-6 victory, when they overcame a 5-1 deficit against Joba Chamberlain. It was the first time they had won four games in this fashion on one homestand in the franchise's 49-year history.
Robinson Cano extended the Yankees' margin to 4-0 in the fourth with a two-out RBI single. But the Angels pulled ahead by 8-4 in the fifth while knocking out Pettitte (8-5), who was charged with six runs and seven hits in 41/3 innings.
Jered Weaver (10-3) struck out nine over six innings, allowing four runs, three earned, and four hits, including Rodriguez's two-run shot in the first and Eric Hinske's solo shot in the second.
