ALLENTOWN - Syracuse starter Garrett Mock scattered four hits over six scoreless innings as the Chiefs beat the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, 4-0, in the first game of a day-night doubleheader yesterday in the International League.

The Chiefs completed a sweep with a 7-1 win in the nightcap.

IronPigs starter Drew Carpenter gave up all seven runs, six earned, in 52/3 innings.

Reading 4, Altoona 3

READING - Quintin Berry scored from third in the bottom of the 11th when Michael Taylor reached base on an error, giving the Phillies a win over the Curve in the Eastern League.

Scott Eyre gave up a hit, walked one, and struck out two batters in an inning of relief. He threw 12 strikes on 22 pitches.
