Phillies-Rays: BIG play X-ray

THE PLAY: Pedro Feliz, often the most overlooked player in a star-studded lineup, delivered the biggest blow of 2008, lining an 0-1 pitch from Chad Bradford into centerfield to score pinch-runner Eric Bruntlett with the World Series-winning run.

THE PLAY: Pedro Feliz, often the most overlooked player in a star-studded lineup, delivered the biggest blow of 2008, lining an 0-1 pitch from Chad Bradford into centerfield to score pinch-runner Eric Bruntlett with the World Series-winning run.

THE SETUP: After the Rays answered a sixth-inning run with one of their own in the top of the seventh, the Phillies needed to strike back right away - and Pat Burrell did. He took a pitch from J.P. Howell for a strike and another low for a ball and then drilled a hanging curve off the "Manny Ramirez" fence in left-centerfield for a double. Bruntlett, who ran for Burrell, went to third when Shane Victorino grounded out to the right side.

THE AT-BAT: With the infield in and facing Bradford, a submarining righthander, Feliz fought the first pitch off for a bouncing foul down the third-base line. Bradford hung the next pitch high in the strike zone, Feliz went up and got it, and sent it right back up the middle to score Bruntlett.

REGULAR SEASON STATS: Burrell batted just .233 (24-for-103) when leading off an inning during the regular season ... Feliz hit .326 (15-for-46) with a runner on third and .444 (8-for-18) with a runner on third and less than two outs ... Feliz hit .231 against righthanders.
