Channel 57 to air Game 6 of 1980 World Series

Look for World Series games on two Philadelphia stations this weekend.

Of course, Game 3 between the Phillies and Rays is on Fox29 at 8 o'clock tomorrow night, with Game 4 on Sunday and Game 5 on Monday.

But at 3 p.m. tomorrow, the CW Philly 57 will air a rebroadcast of Game 6 of the 1980 World Series between the Phillies and Kansas City Royals.

Phillies ace Steve Carlton pitched seven scoreless innings against the Royals at Veterans Stadium on Oct. 21, 1980. Tug McGraw relieved Carlton in the eighth and allowed a run on a sacrifice fly.

In the ninth, McGraw got out of a bases-loaded jam by striking out Willie Wilson as the Phillies won, 4-1, and captured their only World Series title.

This version of an on-air pep rally will precede a special Phillies edition of "Eyewitness News" on Channels 3 and 57 at 7 p.m.. Both stations will then show a "Phillies Phever" special at 7:30 p.m. *
