With the kind of women that good looks, a Yankees uniform, and $28 mil a year can attract, Low&Outside is frankly more shocked that the rumors of A-Rod's infidelity focus on Madonna. For crying out loud, she is not only washed up but also 17 years his senior.
If the rumors were about, say, A-Rod and Jessica Alba or Shakira, OK, we could see that. But Madonna? This from a guy with eyes supposedly sharp enough to read the seams of a fastball coming at him at 98 m.p.h.
Of course, Cynthia Rodriguez is a big girl, and she will walk away from his marriage with more money than a small Latin American country. More troubling are her accusations that A-Rod has emotionally abandoned their two young children. If that's true, he ought to be sent down to A-ball of fatherhood.
"We're in the initial phase of my rehab," said Schilling, who turned out for a charity function in Randolph, Mass., wearing a green Donovan McNabb Eagles jersey. "There's no real critical decision-making point for a good five, seven or eight weeks from now, until I need to decide whether I want to progress past the normal surgery rehab into a very specific job rehab. We'll figure that out then."
When Minnesota Twins righthander Kevin Slowey got pounded in the second inning of Saturday's game against the Cleveland Indians, he took a look at his form on video between innings.
"I tend to overthrow a little bit and jump toward the plate," Slowey told the Minneapolis Star Tribune. "I looked at the video and, sure enough, I was jumping toward the plate."
Slowey made an adjustment and went on to win, 9-6.
"We think getting Justin acclimated to the bullpen has a chance to really help our ball club," said manager Terry Francona. "There are a couple of ways to do it. You could just give him the ball and send him out there. I don't think that's the best way to develop somebody."
