Low & Outside: AL Notes

Fore!

And the mistresses just keep coming.

The New York Daily News reported that former pitching great Roger Clemens was involved in an affair with the ex-wife of golfer John Daly, Paulette Dean Daly. This came just days after country singer Mindy McCready confirmed that she and Clemens had a decade-long affair.

According to the Daily News story, Clemens and Paulette Dean Daly met at the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic in Palm Springs, Calif., where Daly organizes parties. The Daily News reported that Clemens was at one such event two years ago "dancing around the party with an 8-foot-long boa constrictor around his neck." Apparently, he wanted to wrap it around his head, but the snake was too short.

More Clemens news

From the "Your Tax Dollars Hard at Work" files, a Houston-area trainer with ties to Clemens says he took a polygraph test administered by the FBI on Wednesday, according to the New York Times.

Shaun Kelley, who once employed Clemens' stepsister, said he passed the test, which included questions about whether he knows Clemens and whether he has ever given the seven-time Cy Young Award winner performance-enhancing drugs. The Justice Department is investigating whether Clemens committed perjury when he told a congressional committee that he had never used performance-enhancing drugs. The FBI declined to comment.

"They asked me if I've ever given him human growth hormone or performance-enhancing drugs and I said no," Kelly said. "I passed it, bro, trust me."

Unfortunately for Kelly, it's hard to trust anyone who says "bro."
