Tejada was hit on the wrist by San Diego's Doug Brocail on Wednesday. He last missed a game on May 31, 2000, while with Oakland.

Boston starter Curt Schilling was placed on the 15-day DL because of soreness in his right shoulder. The move was retroactive to Tuesday.

Seattle placed righthander Cha Seung Baek on the 15-day DL with inflammation in his right shoulder.
