Phillies Notes | Rollins remains workhorse for Phils

Jimmy Rollins has always been a workhorse for the Phillies, and this year is no different. Rollins, centerfielder Aaron Rowand and second baseman Chase Utley have played in all 51 games this year. Each was in the starting lineup for last night's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks at Citizens Bank Park.

Aaron Rowand

and second baseman Chase Utley have played in all 51 games this year. Each was in the starting lineup for last night's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks at Citizens Bank Park.

Now in his seventh full season with the Phillies, Rollins has never played fewer than 154 games. He has appeared in 158 three times, including each of the last two seasons.

The 28-year-old Rollins says he's feeling fine. He credits the weather.

"Had it been hotter at the start of the season, maybe I would have felt a little more tired, but fortunately the weather has been pretty cool, and I have been there every day," Rollins said.

Rollins got a few innings off in Sunday's 13-6 win in Atlanta, giving way to Abraham Nuñez in the eighth inning.

"There are definitely days you wish you blow out teams like [Sunday], and it's great to get a few innings off," said Rollins, who entered last night leading the National League with 218 at-bats. He was tied for first with 22 multi-hit games.

What about playing all 162 games?

"Would I want to go 162? I don't have a problem with it," Rollins said. "I expect to play every day. The day I come in and my name isn't on the lineup is actually shocking."

Burrell doesn't start

Phillies leftfielder

Pat Burrell,

who had been hitless in his last 17 at-bats, was out of the starting lineup for the second straight game. Manager

Charlie Manuel

would not say when he would put Burrell back in.

"I will watch him during batting practice, and I will see about it [today] when we come to the yard," Manuel said. "He will be OK. He hit on the last homestand and had a rough road trip."

Jayson Werth started in left, but Burrell ended his slump with a pinch single in the ninth.

Helms sits again

For the fourth straight game,

Wes Helms

was not in the starting lineup. Nuñez, making his first start since suffering a slight concussion in a 5-4 loss at Florida on Thursday, was at third base.

"Wes Helms will get to play," Manuel said. "It's only a matter of time." Helms entered last night batting .267 with no home runs and 14 RBIs.

"I still have all the confidence in the world in Wes Helms," Manuel said. "I like him as much as when we got him."

Gordon update

Relief pitcher

Tom Gordon,

who was placed on the disabled list May 4 with a strained right rotator cuff, was examined yesterday by Phillies team physician

Michael Ciccotti.

The Phils said the examination went well and Gordon will begin a throwing program today.
