On June 7 at 2 p.m., ESPN2 will broadcast the Major League Baseball draft. Relax, you still have time to get a good seat at the bar to check out this historic event.

baseball draft be?
Baseball's potential draft picks are just as obscure.
You will see each team's first-round pick. Last year, the Phillies' first pick was righthander Kyle Drabek, and in 2005, it was third baseman Michael Costanzo.
Commissioner Bud Selig said the telecast "will give fans access to see this critical function of an organization's development. This is an idea whose time has come."
Despite the watching-paint-dry potential of the broadcast, we actually think Selig has a point. ESPN will screech about it nonstop. Fans can get a look at these kids, learn about them and what their chances are of playing in the majors.
And then, fans can ridicule their favorite teams for the thorough lack of foresight exhibited in making their selections.
