no, they have a lousy QB and coacj. They could easily be 0-4. Sure they eeked out scrapped by in three, but when they played a real team onthe risew, they got killed. Yoo, I don't knowq what football you went to Rich, but 4 fielf goals and one TD is not an acceptable production for a team you predict will go to the superbowl. Rich, they have no shot, but this is good. If their wins are barely wins and their losses are by large differences, then we will say goodbye to Andy and Vick. Amen.

Yeah Rich I don't know what football you went to. If a team is judged in the preseason to be a contender and they don't score a predetermined amount of points in any game -- they should automatically lose the game regardless of how many points the opponent scores. The '08 Phillies could have easily lost the NLCS so I think its a bit premature to suggest they were a great team.

Eagles could easily be 0-4. They are only scoring 16.5 PPG and the special teams are terrible. The defense is improved, but gave up the lead late on a 5 play 83 yard drive and still has 2 gaping holes at safety. The vaunted DL has 6 sacks (7 total for the team) in 4 games.

Let's not get too full of ourselves here.
    Only in Philly...

2 gaping holes at safety??? Here's a tip nfl.com/rewind nate allen is playing at a pro bowl level and the d-line cant get sacks when they're keeping 6, 7 or even 8 guys back to protect. You have no knowledge of anything that resembles football. Embarrassing post watch some tape before running your mouth.

A win is a win of course and they actually came back and won the 3 games. Which is impressive. But those games could have easily went the other way. The coach is below average and it after all these years he does not seem to have the ability to lead the team on game day or take them to the promise land.

Here's a little tip about the NFL: About 75% of the games hinge on a few plays. In other words, stop talking about how the Eagles should be this or should be that. It happens to every team in most games. Try to enjoy the 3-1 record. Save the complaining for when there's actually something to complain about.

thesecondmosthater, Even if they win 15 and go one and out, it's not enough, moron. For Philly fans it a superbowl winner, which we have never had. Our motto is "Win or go home." And if you think the Eagles will win 15 games this season, you are in complete denial. How about making a bet in Vegas. You could win big if you really believe. I have a hunch you are not putting any of your money on it.

I'm not hearing anything about Arizona blowing out the Eagles 27-6. What happens when you figure that into the story????????????? Where are all the Kolb haters.

Some really foolish comments on here. The Eagles won close games against two elite teams. What, you aren't impressed unless they win blow outs? Some people are really misinformed and silly.

Yeah, I'm really upset that the team I root for is 3-1...and I hate Kevin Kolb.

About this blog
Rich Hofmann arrived at the Daily News in 1980 for a job whose status was officially designated as "full-time, temporary." A senior at Penn at the time, he was hired to fill in on the copy desk during a staff illness. The notion of him covering the Eagles or being a columnist did not exist in anyone's imagination. It was supposed to be six weeks and out, but he never left. It is only one of the reasons why so many people have concerns about him as a potential house guest. Rich has blogged the postseasons of the Flyers and Eagles. E-mail Rich at hofmanr@phillynews.com Reach Rich at hofmanr@phillynews.com.
