Ruf hurt at Triple A
Within the span of 3 days, Darin Ruf went from the major leagues to the minor leagues and very likely to the disabled list.
Ruf, who was optioned to Triple A Lehigh Valley on Sunday, suffered a sprained left wrist and a cut on his right leg that required stitches while sliding into the leftfield wall in the IronPigs' game against Louisville last night in Allentown.
Ruf was removed from the game immediately.
It was the second time this season that a Phillies player was optioned to Triple A, only to get injured shortly after joining the IronPigs. Freddy Galvis is sidelined indefinitely after breaking his left collarbone when he collided with third baseman Maikel Franco while attempting to make a sliding catch in foul territory in mid-May.
