The Soul announced Tuesday former linebacker, Beau Bell, will be the team's general manager and assistant head coach going into the 2019 season.

Bell is a two-time Arena Bowl champion with the Soul and spent last season as the Albany Empire's director of player personnel and pass rush coordinator. According to the Soul's release, he will be in charge of player recruitment, contracts, and will work with partners supporting the Soul while serving as head coach Coach Clint Dolezel's lead assistant.

Bell was drafted in 2008 by the Cleveland Browns after spending his college career at UNLV. He was waived by the team the next year. He spent several years bouncing around the United Football League and Canadian Football League before landing in Arena Football League in 2011 with the Spokane Shock. He arrived to the Soul via trade in 2015 from the Los Angeles Kiss. He spent the 2016 and 2017 season with the team before retiring.

Bell's first active day on the job will be November 3, 2018 for Soul team tryouts.
