Soul beat Brigade in playoffs, will host ArenaBowl Aug. 26

The Soul will be playing for their third league championship since joining in 2004, and defending their 2016 title.

The Philadelphia Soul are headed to the ArenaBowl once again.

Dan Raudabaugh threw nine touchdown, Darius Reynolds caught nine passes and six touchdowns, and the Soul beat the Baltimore Brigade, 69-54, at the Wells Fargo Center on Saturday to advance to the the Aug. 26 championship game.

"I'm proud of all this team has accomplished this season," said Soul coach Clint Dolezel. "We have worked very hard to get to this point and I'm excited to defend the title once again."

The Soul will take on the winner of the other playoff matchup between the Tampa Bay Storm and the Cleveland Gladiators on Monday night. The team will be playing for their third league championship since joining in 2004, and defending their 2016 title.

This was the fifth time the Soul and the Brigade met. The Brigade handed the Soul their only loss of the season, a 49-42 defeat on the road. The Soul finished the season series 4-1, though.

Raudabaugh went 23 for 35 with 324 yards, while Baltimore quarterback Shane Boyd went 21 for 33 with 324 yards and seven touchdowns.
