Minor League Report: Dylan Cozens homers again, Scott Kingery up to 23 games

Running through Friday's games of the Phillies farm system:

INTERNATIONAL LEAGUE (AAA)

Lehigh Valley 4, Pawtucket 3: DH Dylan Cozens hit his third homer in two days and 3B Scott Kingery kept his hitting streak alive for the IronPigs.

RHP Henderson Alvarez gave up three runs, two earned, in five innings for a no-decision in his debut for the Phillies organization. Alvarez, a free agent signed on Tuesday, allowed eight hits and three walks.

Cozens had gone 26 consecutive games without homering before hitting two on Thursday. He's up to 26 homers for this season

Kingery doubled in the ninth inning to extend his hitting streak to 23 games. He broke Dom Brown's team record of 21 on Thursday.

EASTERN LEAGUE (AA)

Reading 3, Harrisburg 1: C Devi Gruilon hit a three-run homer and LHP Elniery Garcia worked his way around five hits and six walks for the win.

Garcia (2-0, 1.40) allowed just one run and RHP Jeff Singer pitched the final two innings for his second save for the Fightins.

RHP Ranfi Casimiro relieved Garcia with the bases loaded and one out in the sixth inning and allowed just one inherited runner to score.

FLORIDA STATE LEAGUE (A)

Clearwater at Lakeland was postponed. The teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday.

SOUTH ATLANTIC LEAGUE (A)

Lakewood 4, Kannapolis 3: CF Jesus Alastre (.317) went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a run and an RBI and Nick Fanti (8-2, 2.68) pitched 5.2 innings for the win.

NEW YORK-PENN LEAGUE (A)

State College 2, Williamsport 0: LHP Kyle Young gave up two runs in 5.1 innings to fall to 5-2, 3.06 ERA.

GULF COAST LEAGUE (Rookie)

Phillies 3, Blue Jays 2: CF Keudy Bocio's sacrifice fly in the top of the 10th scored PR Jesus Henriquez as the Phillies rallied from a 2-0 deficit.

The Phils bullpen pitched five shutout innings with Oscar Marcelino (two innings) getting the win and Anton Kuznetsov (one inning) the save.

The Phils (33-20) hold a two-game lead over the Blue Jays with five games to go. The two play again on Saturday.
