Yes, the Sixers’ fan base took well to the official news Monday afternoon that the team had traded up to get the No. 1 overall pick in Thursday’s NBA draft. Within minutes of the announcement, which came at 1:30 p.m., one fan (above) had already changed his last name on Twitter to Fultz — for Markelle, the Washington point guard the Sixers are expected to take with the top pick — and added to his bio “THE PICKS SWAPPED.” Within minutes, Sixers fans’ hashtags were trending on Twitter, and CBS Sports officially tweeted the news with an homage to Sam Hinkie:

This fan, who writes that he is a rising junior at Temple, had already changed his Twitter bio: “I am one with the process and the process is with me. Blessed to have Embiid/Fultz/Simmons. Temple University ’18.”

Other fans also began to praise Sixers president Bryan Colangelo for pulling off the trade, noting that if the Los Angeles Lakers win the draft lottery in 2018, and the Sacramento Kings do so in 2019, the Sixers will keep those picks and have four consecutive No. 1 overall picks.

Other fans even gave more extreme reactions:
