Penguins win puts Phantoms on brink

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins scored three power-play goals in an 8-4 win over the Phantoms last night and took a three-games-to-one lead in the AHL East finals.

The Penguins broke open a 2-2 game at the Wachovia Center with five second-period scores, two on the power play. Tim Brent scored the Pens' first and fifth goals, both on power plays. Ryan Stone also scored twice for the Penguins.

Noteworthy. A potential Game 7 will be played, if necessary, on Monday, a day earlier than originally scheduled. The game would be at Wilkes-Barre at 7:05 p.m.

Game 5 is scheduled for tomorrow at Wilkes-Barre. If a Game 6 is necessary, it will be at the Wachovia Center on Saturday.
