Phantoms shut out Americans

Ryan Potulny scored a pair of goals and Scott Munroe made 25 saves in his first shutout as a pro as the Phantoms beat the Rochester Americans last night, 3-0, in an American Hockey League game at the Wachovia Spectrum.

Matt Ellison also scored for the Phantoms, who wore special pink jerseys to promote breast-cancer awareness.

All three Phantoms goals came in the second period, when they outshot the Americans, 12-11. All totaled, the Phantoms outshot Rochester, 33-25.

Mark Cullen assisted on both of Potulny's goals.

The Phantoms visit the Bears tonight at 7:05 in Hershey. *
