SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Wednesday night’s weather forecast for Taney’s game at the Little League World Series is still a bit uncertain a few hours from first pitch.

The Center City-based team meets Mountain Ridge Little League of Las Vegas at Lamade Stadium. The winner advances to Saturday’s U.S. Final. The loser moves to an elimination game.

The Weather Channel is predicting scattered thunderstorms here tonight. The station’s hour-by-hour forecast has a 60-percent chance of precipitation starting at 8 p.m. First pitch is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

If the game is postponed it will likely be rescheduled for Thursday. The tournament’s scheduled has a built-in off day for Friday, which would allow Thursday’s elimination games to be played on Friday.

But if Davis pitches on the rescheduled date and throws at least 51 pitches, she will be unable to pitch again in the tournament. If Wednesday’s game is played as scheduled, Davis can throw 65 pitches and still be eligible to pitch again Sunday if Taney advances to the World Series final.
