If the Passion exhibited anything in its last game of the regular season, it was that one team is determined to bring a championship to Philadelphia this season.

The team slammed the Toronto Triumph, 74-0, in front of a home crowd on December 9 to clinch a spot in the Lingerie Football League playoffs. With the win, the Passion (4-0) posted records for both single-game points and margin-of-victory.

Standout Marirose Roach continued this season’s dominant play, putting three touchdowns on the board and racking up 80 yards in seven carries. The star running back cemented her position as the league’s leading scorer and rusher, with 16 touchdowns and 373 total yards.

On the other side of the ball, a strong defensive line propelled the Passion to their second shutout of the season. Shanae Thomas led the way with eight tackles against a lackluster Toronto offense.

The Passion will next play in the LFL’s Eastern Conference Playoffs on January 29 in Ontario, Calif. The team will square off against the winner of next Friday’s match-up between the Orlando Fantasy and the Tampa Breeze.
