The best club professionals in the area will compete for the largest first-place check for a one-day event of any PGA of America section in the country Tuesday when the Haverford Trust Philadelphia PGA Classic is played at Sunnybrook Golf Club in Plymouth Meeting.

First place is worth $100,000.

The field of 138 professionals includes seven past champions, including two-time winner Dave Quinn of Links Golf Club. Also competing is Jamie Komancheck of RiverCrest Golf Cub and Preserve, who lost in a playoff for the big prize to Josh Rackley of Gulph Mills last year.

Rackley is no longer a section member and will not participate in this year's event.

Others in the field include Lookaway Golf Club assistant pro Michael Little, the current leader on the Omega player of the year points list; Radnor Valley head pro and 2008 winner George Forster, who is on top in the Skee Riegel senior player of the year race; and teaching pro Stu Ingraham of M-Golf, who was one of nine club professionals to make the cut at last week's Senior PGA Championship.

Twelve amateurs also will take part in the event.
