Jaws: Soul not for sale

THE SOUL is not for sale, Ron Jaworski asserts, only a piece of it. Craig Spencer, one of the team's founders, recently announced he was selling a portion of his 40 percent of the team's ownership stock. This led to speculation that with a sale, the team eventually would move out of Philadelphia.

Not happening, says Jaws, who owns 40 percent of the team. Three other partners (Pete Ciarrocchi, Marty Judge and Cosmo DeNicola) own another 20. Spencer is diminishing his role to spend time on other business ventures.

"Craig will still stay involved with some minor interests, but the Soul are not for sale," Jaworski said firmly, "and we are not moving out of Philadelphia - absolutely not."

Training camp opens March 2. The Soul is coming off an American Conference championship in 2012, but a disappointing loss to Arizona in the ArenaBowl championship game.
