Always A Virgin wins Battle

Always A Virgin, the top 3-year-old pacer in the country, won the fastest division of the Battle of the Brandywine in 1:51.3 yesterday at Harrah's Chester Casino and Racetrack.

A former staple on the harness circuit, the Battle of the Brandywine was run for the first time since 1989.

With so many entries, track officials divided the field into five divisions with a $50,000 purse in each. Other winners were May June Character (1:52.1), Trueys Legacy (1:53.1), Artist's View (1:52.3.) and Fresh Deck (1:53.1). *
