Jordan out; Samuel and Trotter questionable
options
 

Linebacker Akeem Jordan is out and cornerback Asante Samuel and linebacker Jeremiah Trotter are questionable for Sunday's game against the Redskins, Eagles coach Andy Reid said.

Reid sounded confident that Samuel and Trotter would be able to play, however. Trotter is expected to split downs with Joe Mays at middle linebacker with Jordan (knee) out for the third straight game. Trotter said he started to feel pain down his left leg last night. He said he never felt that kind of pain before. Reid said the 32-year-old had inflammation in his knee and the team held him out of practice today.

The team worked out indoors so the turf added another reason to extra cautious with Trotter.

The Eagles have been ravaged at linebacker all season. Trotter's injury is just the latest setback. Still, he expected to be ready to go.

Samuel's status was extra important with Sheldon Brown also ailing. But Brown was upgraded to probable, after being questionable last week, and the guy seems to play no matter what. Samuel has a neck strain and said, "Tell them A. Samuel is OK."

Samuel missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday, but was out there today.

In other news, Reid said that Shawn Andrews was in Dallas getting a second opinion on his back. The Eagles offensive lineman is supposed to have back surgery next week. It will be the second procedure on his back in less than 14 months.

Andrews has been in California for the last three months rehabbing. Reid said the rehabiliation had not gone well and that there was no improvement. He said it had nothing to do with Andrews' effort, which is said was committed.

    When we play with Samules,in the line up it's like have 10 guys on defense. With him out we can only play better,,,,
