Where does Andy Reid rank among NFL head coaches? (David Maialetti / Staff Photographer)

Some links to pass along on this Labor Day:

* The Sporting News put together a set of rankings for the 32 coaches in the NFL. The list was compiled by the publication's writers and editors. Andy Reid came in at No. 6.

"Obviously, Coach Reid hasn’t won (a Super Bowl) yet. … (But) if you’re going to base (the ranking) on wins and success - not just Super Bowls - then definitely Coach Reid is top two, top three," said Eagles fullback Leonard Weaver.

The top five coaches are Bill Belichick, Sean Payton, Jeff Fisher, Mike Shanahan and Mike Tomlin. Tom Coughlin is seventh. John Harbaugh is ninth. Brad Childress is 14th. Wade Phillips 15th. And Steve Spagnuolo 32nd.

* SI.com's Peter King hands out his Final Cutdown Weekend Awards and gives the Andrews brothers a mention:

The All In The Family Award: To the Eagles. Two years ago, they thought they had 40 percent of their offensive line locked up for the next half-decade, with the Andrews brothers, Shawn and Stacy, playing integral roles. They fired Shawn in the offseason; he's now property of the Giants, and may start for the G-men, depending on the health of their interior line. And on Saturday they traded Stacy to the Seahawks for a seventh-round pick. I'm all for admitting mistakes and moving on, but that's a little ridiculous.

* Yahoo Sports' Michael Silver ranks the NFL's owners and has Jeffrey Lurie 11th:

If cool, stable, no-frills leadership is what you prefer, Lurie is a hell of a role model. A self-sufficient, non-meddlesome owner, Lurie has a strong, well-respected team president in Joe Banner and a similarly stable head-coaching situation. Lurie may not be as engaged on a league level as some of his peers would prefer, but he’s a valued partner and positive force in the Philadelphia community whose organization has been consistently successful during Andy Reid’s decade-long coaching tenure.

Silver ranks Daniel Snyder (Redskins) eighth, John Mara/Steve Tisch (Giants) fifth and Jerry Jones tied for first.

* ESPN.com's Bill Simmons ranks all 32 NFL quarterbacks, based on the question: Can you go to war with him? Simmons has Kevin Kolb 23rd:

A legitimate 2010 fantasy sleeper until everyone started pimping him, causing Kolb to make history: Without playing a down, he became overrated for being underrated. When he stunk against the Chiefs last weekend, every Philly fan remembered, "Oh yeah, we have no idea if this guy can be half as good as McNabb was." The good news for Kolb: Philly fans are famously patient and supportive. (Important note: I think this will swing back the other way. By mid-September, he's going to become so overrated for being underrated that it's going to make him underrated again, making him the first underrated overrated underrated guy.)

Some of the quarterbacks Simmons has ranked ahead of Kolb: Matthew Stafford, Mark Sanchez, Jason Campbell, Chad Henne, Kyle Orton/Tim Tebow, David Garrard.

* NFL.com's Bucky Brooks tabs Brandon Graham as a potential Defensive Rookie of the Year candidate:

The high-motor rusher will rack up sacks in the Eagles' blitz-happy system. With opponents sure to direct their protection towards Pro Bowler Trent Cole, Graham should get -- and win -- plenty of one-on-one matchups.

* NFL.com's Michael Lombardi lists 53 reasons to be intrigued by the upcoming NFL season. Kolb is No. 12:

Filling in for McNabb might make him the fan favorite to start the season, but unless Kolb leads the team to wins, his honeymoon will be short lived.

Sean McDermott also makes Lombardi's list:

He took over when Jim Johnson died last year, and last year was clearly a growing experience. This year, with Dick Jauron at his side, McDermott will have to be sharper and more precise with his in-game adjustments.

I'm kind of surprised Laurie is ranked only at 11, considering the value of the franchise, how much he made with the team, and his social causes. In addition, his coach is ranked 6th, which further doesn't make the 11th rank sense to me, not that I'm a big Laurie fan. Just Sayin. Also cannot see Coughlin behind Reid and some of the others. He has won a Super Bowl, taking over a team with a losing record. In addition, he was successful with Jacksonville, in fact being the most successful expansion league coach in league history, going to the AFC Championship game twice. This is not even including his college coaching. Some of these others coaches resumes ahead of him don't stack up.

How is Snyder ranked ahead of Lurie- he is clueless. He didn't even hire a GM until this year

You have got to be kidding...Jeff Laurie used his mother's money to finace the purchase of the club.....and everybody gives him credit for raising the value of the club forgetting that every fanchise value is up big time due to the popularity of the NFL and the billions of dollars of TV money it receives...How tough is it to make money if you are a franchise of one of the biggest businesses in the entertainment world.....give me a break.....If any schmoo had the 1st million given to him....the second one is easy.........as to JoeB being well respected......yes by other owners.....he is a hatchet man and a cheap penny pincher.....I don't think the union or the players feel that way......but he does hang close to Jeffery so you know he is secure.....as to Andy......11 years here and no Lombardi Trophy or SB ring........and is that not the only reason the game is played.....and the coaches ahead of him all wear rings....but I have to hand it to him....he has JoeB and Jeffery buffaloed.....and his lack of communication skills with the media and the fans keeps them all away from the fantasy football freinds (Jeff and Joe) so his job is secure.......and for the record we all hate Jerry Jones because all he cares about is winning it all.......Consumed by the goal of the Lombardi Trophy........if only our ownership would be like that....but alas......the stepfords are happy to settle for the scraps of winning and making the playoffs......and the media has not had the courage to call out Jeff or Joe or feast on Andy's inability to win it all........

yea ok he is 6th in wins, but his playcalling is about 30th. It will never win a SB. which is why he never has with the best D in the league a couple times. Until he is fired or has the playcalling stripped he will never win a SB. EVER.

Lurie made a big mistake by failing to hire Mike Shanahan to upgrade the head coach position. And I would have traded McNabb to the Steelers for Roethlisberger, who can win Super Bowls.

Objective rankings like this should show you knuckleheads the real deal. This "no super bowl = you stink" attitude is moronic. It exposes your short-sightedness and immature mental makeup. We have a very good team to follow, they give us an exciting season every year, and these lists bear that out. It's a glass half-empty vs. half-full situation. Nuggett, you're definitely a glass half-empty kind of guy.

Jones is a right-wing Republican, which should put him at the bottom of the list.

spag's is rated below Chan in Buffalo. That's low. Peter King's a little ridiculous and generally wrong. Peter drinks too much coffee and gets on way to many planes. Silver uses the same facial doctor as Jerry Jones. They should send ESPN's Bill Simons to Afganistian to see what WAR is about. It ain't about football. Brilant Lombardi
