It's never too early to bet on football -- right, all you gambling degenerates? -- especially if you want to get half-decent odds on who will win the Super Bowl.

The early betting line from sportsbook.com gives the Eagles 11-1 odds of winning Super Bowl XLIV. The New England Patriots are the favorites at 4-1. Eagles' NFC East rivals the N.Y. Giants are 9-1, with the Dallas Cowboys 12-1. Here are the odds on some other teams:

Pittsburgh Steelers, 15-2.
Indianapolis Colts, 11-1.
San Diego Chargers, 12-1.
Minnesota Vikings, 15-1.
Chicago Bears, 16-1.
Tennessee Titans, 16-1.
Arizona Cardinals, 20-1.
New Orleans Saints, 20-1.
Washington Redskins, 25-1.
Miami Dolphins, 28-1.

See you in Vegas.

Here's the plan. Head to Vegas week #1 and put your "one unit" (whatever it is) on the Eagles to win the NFC Championship (I saw 11:2 for that) and another "one unit" on the Eagles to win the Super Bowl. Then, after they win the NFC Championship game, you go back to Vegas for the Super Bowl, head to the sports book to pick up your 5.5 units, and enjoy yourself in Vegas with those units--knowing that you already have a bet for 11 units on the game. NICE!!!

reils no need to go to Vegas make the short trip to DE once they have their sports betting up. I heard it should be right around week one of the season.

steelers 15 to 2 makes them 7.5 to 1. new england has a qb who hasn't played in over one year. chicago at 16 to 1 looks like a great bet. hedge it with steelers.

cusoraider: unfortunately, you probably won't be able to get those odds in September. If you are going to bet, you better (pun intended) do it very soon.

The only thing about betting in DE is that you have to pick more than one game(parlay). You cannot bet on one single game.

cusoraider--I don't care about the NEED to go to Vegas. I WANT to go to Vegas (and am already scheduled to be there that week anyway). Call me crazy, but I'd say Vegas is more fun than Delaware.

Voytas--you'll book ANY bet on the Eagles winning the Super Bowl? How can we be assured you'll be able to cover it? However remote you believe the Eagles' chances may be, you do need to demonstrate some ability to be able to cover the wager before making a statement like that.

    I think its closer to 2-1, if not 3-2. They're a lock.
