It's another Game Day here at Eagletarian, so be sure to check with Eagletarian throughout the day as the Eagles play host to Brian Dawkins and the Denver Broncos.

Paul Domowitch's Key Matchups

1. Eagles LT Jason Peters vs. Broncos ROLB Elvis Dumervil. Dumervil has an NFL-high 15 sacks, but just 5 in the last 8 games. After a slow start, Peters has played at a Pro Bowl level the last 3 games. Advantage: Eagles

2. Eagles CBs Sheldon Brown and Asante Samuel vs. Broncos WRs Brandon Marshall and Eddie Royal. Samuel and Brown have combined for 13 interceptions. Marshall and Royal have combined for 130 receptions. Advantage: Broncos

3. Eagles RE Trent Cole vs. Broncos LT Ryan Clady. Cole is having his best all-around season. Clady, an '08 first-rounder, isn't playing as well ins Josh McDaniels' system as he did in Mike Shanahan's. Advantage: Eagles

Les Bowen's pick

Same mode as last week, except I'm actually picking the Eagles to cover this time.

Maybe Brian Dawkins knows Donovan McNabb inside and out, will pick off a bunch of passes and make the populace even angrier about his departure. I think that pretty much has to happen for the Broncos to win, though.

I like Andy Reid against rookie head coaches, particularly rookie head coaches with nondescript offenses.

I don't think there's a Brian Westbrook jinx, though the Birds are 7-1 without him.

Denver has come to the Northeast twice this season, losing 30-7 at Baltimore and 27-17 at Washington.

Prediction: Eagles 20, Broncos 12.

MORE Daily News staff predictions will be posted by 2 p.m.

No problem with onverconfidence among the writers and fans, I see. I have to pick the Broncos. We're 7-1 when I pick the opponent.

About Eagletarian Blog
Les BowenLes Bowen has covered the Eagles for the Daily News since 2002. Before that, he spent nearly 13 years covering the Flyers. It took Les only a few seasons after the switch to figure out that there was no penalty box at the Linc, and that the time really wasn't his, despite what Andy Reid kept saying. Les came to Philadelphia and the Daily News from Charlotte in 1983. In the intervening years, he has pretty much lost track of NASCAR, and his accent. He, his wife Barbara, and their two sons live in Haddon Township, New Jersey. E-mail Les at bowenl@phillynews.com and follow him on Twitter.

Paul DomowitchPaul Domowitch has been with the Daily News since 1982. He has spent most of his nearly 3 decades with the paper covering the Eagles and pro football. For the last 10 years, he’s been a selector for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. A native of Wilkes-Barre and a graduate of Wilkes University, Domo started his career in Texas, working first for the Midland Reporter-Telegram (1976-78), and then for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, where he covered some god-awful Texas Ranger baseball teams. His first beat at the Daily News actually was boxing, which he covered just long enough to lose 2 sports coats to blood spatter before moving on to football. Domo and his wife Shelley, a University of Oklahoma grad who still hasn’t gotten over that Fiesta Bowl loss to Boise State 5 years ago, have 2 terrific daughters -- Allison, 28, who is an attorney in South Jersey, and Amy, 25, who works in administration for a professional baseball team.
