Thursday's Pa. roundup: Mia Kolb's free throw sends Jenkintown past Lower Moreland

Mia Kolb made a foul shot with no time left on the clock to give the Jenkintown girls' basketball team a 33-32 win over Lower Moreland in the Bicentennial League semifinals. Jennifer Kremp added 13 points Thursday for the Drakes, who will face The Christian Academy in Saturday's final. The Crusaders took down New Hope-Solebury, 40-35.

Mackenzie Gardler netted 18 points and Cardinal O'Hara held off Archbishop Ryan, 59-36, in the Catholic League quarterfinals. The Lions will play Archbishop Wood in Tuesday's semifinals at Thomas Jefferson University. The Vikings cruised past Lansdale Catholic, 63-33, on Thursday.

In other Catholic League playoff action, Molly Masciantonio and Harlem Jennings had 22 and 20 points, respectively, as Archbishop Carroll handled Bonner-Prendergast, 74-51. Archbishop Carroll will face Neumann-Goretti in the semifinals after the Saints defeated West Catholic, 71-42.

Luca Mamula, Seanna McNamara, and Katie Weaver had nine points apiece as Episcopal Academy held off Baldwin, 41-18, in the first round of the PAISAA playoffs. The Churchwomen will play at Notre Dame on Saturday.

Destyni Wood recorded 15 points and Collegium Charter won its third straight Tri-County League championship with a 52-39 triumph over Mercy Career Tech. Kiana Brown, Lacy Maclachlin, and Cheyenne Rivas each had 11 points.

Boys' Basketball

Christian Ray led a balanced attack with 19 points and nine rebounds as Haverford School beat Solebury School, 89-56, in the first round of the PAISAA playoffs. Gavin Burke added 15 points as 13 different players scored for Haverford School. Devon Brewster had 27 points in defeat.

Hill School advanced in the PAISAA tournament with a 75-54 victory over Germantown Academy. Chase Audige and Daquan Morris notched 15 and 13 points, respectively, for the Blues, who will play Malvern Prep in the next round.

In other PAISAA action, Yagizhan Selcuk scored a game-high 21 points as Phelps defeated Episcopal Academy, 71-45. Next up for the Lions is Perkiomen School, which took down Academy of New Church, 58-46. Perkiomen School is 25-0 at home over the last two years.

Phelps also beat Barrack Hebrew, 54-34, to win the Tri-County League championship. Tristen Isaac led with 13 points.

Patrick Robinson reached 1,000 career points as Conwell-Egan got past Lansdale Catholic, 65-57, in a District 12 Class 4A play-in game.

Boys' Bowling

Steve Leopold bowled a game-high 247 and had a high series of 670 in Father Judge's 4-0 win over Roman Catholic. Kevin Hawthorne paced Roman Catholic with a 224 high game and a 595 high series.
