Monday's South Jersey roundup: Cherokee girls' soccer beats Camden Catholic

The Cherokee girls’ soccer team beat Camden Catholic, 4-1, on Monday. Jordyn Deveney had two goals to lead the Chiefs, who also got goals from Olivia McMillan and Arianna Sparrow. Taylor Gardner scored Camden Catholic’s lone goal.

Riley Tiernan set a school-record five assists in Eastern’s 5-0 victory over Cherry Hill West. Kelli McGroarty recorded a hat trick and Sara Brocious scored two goals.

Danielle Bishop scored two goals in Haddon Township’s 6-0 victory against Overbrook. Sydney Farnham, Grace Gentlesk, Ajanni Haltiwanger and Keagan McGovern all scored.

Olivia Carter, Reese Evans, Marlene Gonzalez and Angelina Schilling each scored in Deptford’s 4-1 victory over Highland.

Cherry Hill East tied Seneca, 1-1, in double overtime. Elkin Bonilla-Hernandez scored with two minutes left in regulation for the Golden Eagles. Jacob Fowler scored Cherry Hill East’s lone goal.

Wildwood shut out Salem, 5-0. Tyler Tomlin scored four goals. Will Long had one goal and one assist.

Pennsville lost, 6-1, to Arthur P. Schalick. Connor Green recorded a hat trick, Victor Salas scored two goals and Hunter Ludick scored.

Holy Spirit edged out St. Joseph, 2-1, in overtime. De-Quawn Johnson and Anthony Lawler scored one goal apiece.
