Friday’s South Jersey football roundup: Solomon DeShields sparks Millville on opening kickoff in win over Cherokee

Fifteen seconds – that's all Solomon DeShields needed to put Millville's football team on the board. DeShields returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown Friday to give the Thunderbolts an early lead as they rolled past Cherokee, 32-7.

Eddie Jamison connected with Kyle Yancey and Dashon Byers on touchdown passes that both went at least 55-yards. Maurice Smith and Tex Thompson also scored rushing touchdowns for the Thunderbolts.

Nick Kargman tossed six touchdown passes in Woodrow Wilson's 49-34 win over Seneca. He hasn't thrown less than four touchdown passes yet in a game this season.

Stanley King hauled in three receiving touchdowns, Naiem Simmons caught two and Fadil Diggs recorded one.

Brian Cooey nailed a 25-yard field goal late in the fourth quarter to help Highland sneak past Timber Creek, 16-15. Cooey and Johnny Martin each recorded rushing touchdowns. Jayvin Little caught a 25-yard receiving touchdown for the Chargers in the loss.

Nasir Hill scored off a blocked punt and recorded a rushing touchdown as St. Augustine defeated Ocean City, 38-6. Bryce Eimer blocked the punt Hill returned for 36-yards.

Chris Allen had a passing and rushing touchdown in the contest. He hooked up with Jaylen DeCoteau twice, including one pass that went for more than 70-yards.

Taz'Mire Burton helped Bridgeton edge out Cumberland in overtime, 34-28. After Burton intercepted a Cumberland pass, he rushed for 47-yards to set-up a Raymond Palmer touchdown that gave the Bulldogs a two-possession lead.

Burton recorded three touchdowns, including one 33-yard strike to Shamar Love. Rae Robinson hooked up with Tyrell Russell for three passing touchdowns in the loss.

Jaiden Adams rushed for three touchdowns, including one for 53-yards, in Hammonton's 41-12 win over Absegami. Caleb Nartey also scored a 40-yard rushing touchdown.

Nahzir Broome, Ryan Shelton and Anthony Arthur scored rushing touchdowns as Vineland beat Trenton, 20-14. Messiah Cook scored a rushing touchdown for the Panthers.

Andre N'Diaye's interception midway through the fourth quarter helped Burlington Township seal a 22-8 win against Delsea. The Falcons were scoreless at halftime, but they scored three straight passing touchdowns to open up the second half.

Danny Grzozski connected with Isaiah Pae for two touchdowns. Grzozski also tossed a touchdown to Justin Johnson.

RJ Molten rushed for three touchdowns as Delran rolled past Burlington City, 32-20. Jakier Royster also scored two rushing touchdowns for the Blue Devils.

Joe Dalsey accounted for every touchdown to help Shawnee end its two-game losing streak in a 42-21 victory against Moorestown. He rushed for four scores, including a 43-yard scamper, and tossed two more. Dom Friogiola hauled in a 52-yard touchdown pass, while Nick Cartwright caught one in the back of the end zone.
