Westtown junior Sara Oswald became the school's all-time leading goal scorer in a 3-2 victory over Germantown Academy in the PAISAA girls' soccer quarterfinals.

Oswald scored three goals to bring her career total to 68. Emily Sands, who now plays soccer at Penn, held the previous mark of 66.

"We couldn't be more proud of Sara and what she has accomplished during her career at Westtown," said Paul Lehmann, AD and girls' soccer coach. "To break the all-time scoring mark as a junior is hard to fathom. And to do it with a hat trick in a massive state quarterfinal game is unreal."

The score was tied 1-1 midway through the second half when Westtown goalkeeper Natalie Neumann was issued a red card. Freshman Sophia Linder, the team's starting right midfielder, took over in net.

Oswald and the Moose responded by scoring two straight goals.

The Patriots made a late push and received a goal from Annie Peterson to cut the gap to one. Germantown Academy actually had a chance to send the game into overtime with no time left on the clock, but failed to convert on a penalty kick.

Westtown will appear in the semifinals for the third straight season on Thursday against Springside Chestnut Hill. The Moose beat the Blue Devils, 1-0, in last year's final.
