Tuesday's S.J. roundup: Ocean City boys' basketball beats Holy Spirit in overtime

Donovan Graham scored a team-high 14 points Tuesday as the Ocean City boys’ basketball team edged Holy Spirit, 55-53, in overtime. Isaac Robertson added 10 points for the Red Raiders. Sam Lamonaca paced Holy Spirit with 20 points.

Myles Thompson recorded 19 points and 11 rebounds as Camden sneaked past Bishop Eustace, 45-44. The Panthers held onto a 15-point halftime lead.

Maurice Murray notched 18 points in Timber Creek’s 53-44 triumph over Lenape. Ricky Martin and Isaiah Sanders had 11 and 10 points, respectively, for the Chargers. Andrew Sims scored 30 points in a losing effort.

Justin McNichols’ 27 points led Clearview past Kingsway, 71-65. Alex Soriano added 23 points for the Pioneers.

Gavin Gibson scored 19 points as Cherokee topped Eastern, 65-60. Anthony Dicaro added 13 points for the Chiefs. Matt Cotton scored 26 points in a losing effort.

Matt Farina made four threes en route to 29 points as Gateway upended West Deptford, 79-66. Anthony Hayes added 23 points for the Gators.

Eric Diaz poured in 28 points as Paulsboro downed Overbrook, 71-56. Perry Corsey and DaJuan Jackson-Edwards scored 10 points apiece for the Red Raiders.

Jarek Johnson led Burlington Township with 13 points in a 66-49 win over Highland. Emmanuel Ayetigbo and JohnPaul Oluwadare each scored 10 points for the Falcons.

Michael Ginyard led all scorers with 22 points as Seneca defeated Winslow Township, 52-45. Jack Brockett contributed 13 points for the Golden Eagles.

Jaden Wallace scored 12 points as Collingswood beat Haddon Township, 48-34.

Jeanquai Morton scored 14 points in Riverside’s 52-37 victory over Holy Cross. Manny Harris and Jordan Williams each had 10 points for the Rams.

Akhil Giri had 22 points as Moorestown beat Westampon Tech, 50-37. Nick Cartwright-Atkins added 17 points for the victors.

Jack Stern scored 12 points but Moorestown Friends fell to Shipley, 81-36. Sam Sessoms scored a game-high 24 points for the Gators.

Girls’ Basketball

Sekya Cambell posted a team-high 25 points and 12 rebounds as Paul VI took down Camden Catholic, 83-61. Maniya Custis also recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 assists for the Eagles.

Paige Sofield, the only player in double figures, scored 10 points as Holy Spirit edged Ocean City, 32-31.

Brianna Sorrento scored a game-high 19 points in Northern Burlington’s 37-32 win over Moorestown.

Melvonna Singleton scored 17 points and grabbed five rebounds as Palmyra defeated Medford Tech, 46-38. Ashanti Taylor added eight points, nine rebounds, and five assists for the Panthers.

Sara Peretti scored a game-high 19 points in Hammonton’s 37-29 win over Cumberland.

Tara Dairo led all scorers with 15 points as Highland pulled away from Triton, 50-35. The Tartans outscored the Mustangs by 16 in the second half.

Kennedy Wilburn scored 14 points as Cherokee knocked off Eastern, 40-33.

Nyemah Middleton finished with 26 points in Pemberton’s 72-46 triumph over Willingboro. Shavonne Smith had 19 points for the Hornets.
