Penn State recruit Isheem Young remains behind bars, court records say

Isheem Young, who was charged Friday with robbing a South Philadelphia Wawa, remained behind bars Tuesday at Curran-Fromhold Correctional Facility, according to court records.

Young, 18, is a Penn State recruit and senior star football player at Imhotep Charter High School. He has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Dec. 19, records show.

Young was arraigned Friday, hours before his team won a state semifinal playoff game without him, on counts of robbery, conspiracy, firearms violations and related offenses. Bail was set at $150,000.

Young was charged with robbing the Wawa with two accomplices in July. Imhotep is scheduled to play for a state championship Thursday in Hershey, Pa.
