Plenty of holiday boys' hoops games on tap in Southeastern Pa.

There are many intriguing matchups in holiday boys' basketball tournaments across the region.

The 13th annual Pete and Jameer Nelson Classic, which features 12 of the Inquirer's top-25 squads, is scheduled for Friday at Thomas Jefferson University and Chestnut Hill College. It will continue Saturday at Widener and Sunday at Chestnut Hill.

The seven-game slate at Thomas Jefferson is capped by No. 4-ranked Plymouth Whitemarsh (6-0) vs. No. 6 Bonner-Prendergast (7-1) at 8:45 p.m. That game will be preceded at 7:15 by No. 3 Abington (4-1) vs. No. 14 Archbishop Carroll (4-3).

Plymouth Whitemarsh (6-0) is led by twin brothers Ahmin and Ahmad Williams, fellow senior guard Ish Horn, and 7-2 junior center Naheem McLeod.

Horn produced 20 points and Ahmin Williams and McLeod chipped in 12 and 11, respectively, as the Colonials topped Archbishop Wood, 55-43, in Saturday's second annual City Play-by-Play Classic.

Bonner-Prendie is sparked by junior guard Isaiah Wong, 6-8 senior forward Ajiri Johnson, and 6-9 junior forward Tariq Ingraham.

Wong, a dynamic playmaker and scorer, is averaging 21.1 points. He has scholarship offers from Connecticut, Illinois, Miami, Notre Dame, Syracuse, and Villanova, among others.

Abington is spurred by a pair of juniors, 6-foot-7 forward Eric Dixon and 6-6 wing Lucas Monroe, and senior point guard Robbie Heath. Dixon totaled 26 points and 15 rebounds in last Saturday's 70-60 loss to Neumann-Goretti.

Carroll's headliners are sophomore guard A.J. Hoggard, senior guard Justin Anderson, and 6-4 senior forwards Keyon Butler and Luke House.

The Pete and Jameer Nelson Classic has three games Friday at Chestnut Hill College: Church Farm vs. Overbrook at 2 p.m.; Academy of the New Church vs. Archbishop Ryan at 3:45; and Samuel Fels vs. Shipley at 5:30.

Among the seven games Saturday at Widener is No. 12-ranked Lower Merion vs. No. 23 Coatesville. Lower Merion is keyed by junior guards Jack Forrest, a 6-5 sharpshooter who has drawn Ivy League interest, and Steve Payne. Cheltenham is ignited by 6-7 senior guard and La Salle recruit Jack Clark.

On Sunday at Chestnut Hill, No. 11 Neumann-Goretti will battle Plymouth Whitemarsh at 1 p.m. That will be followed by Archbishop Wood vs. Lincoln at 2:45 p.m.

Neumann-Goretti, the defending PIAA Class 3A state champion, is playing in the Hoodie's House National High School Hoops Classic in Charlotte, N.C.

The 44th annual Triangle Club Holiday Tournament, previously played at Norristown, has moved to Montgomery County Community College. In opening-round play Thursday, Upper Merion will face Bishop McDevitt at 6:30 p.m., and Hatboro-Horsham will play Norristown at 8 p.m. The consolation and championship games are scheduled for Friday at 6:30 and 8, respectively.
