He has committed to Ohio University. … Betz (6-foot-3, 255 pounds) and McCabe (5-11, 200) have both committed to play at Bucknell. … Gunther, a 6-foot-3, 195-pound junior, passed for 1,100 yards and 12 touchdowns last season. He has drawn interest from Boston College, Duke, and West Virginia. … Basiura, a 6-3, 290-pound senior guard, is likely to choose between Cornell and Penn. … Watson, a 5-9, 190-pound junior, is hearing from Army, Morgan State, and Temple. … Maguire, a 6-2, 215-pound inside linebacker, is getting looked at by Army, Temple, and Virginia. … Hornibrook, a 6-4, 260-pound junior, is being eyed by Temple and Virginia. He is projected as an offensive lineman in college. … The Friars will open the season against South Jersey power St. Augustine on Sept. 1 at Villanova at 7 p.m. They will try to avenge last year's 47-30 road loss to the Hermits.
