If you plan it right, you might be able to catch some action at three playoff football games this weekend.

Start at Neshaminy at 7 tonight for the kickoff between the Redskins and visiting Abington Ghosts in the PIAA District 1 Class AAAA first round.

At halftime, take off for Souderton and take in the fourth quarter of the Class AAAA first-round matchup between Council Rock North and North Penn at Souderton.

Tomorrow, you can spend the afternoon watching Penn Charter visit Malvern Prep as the Blue Devils try to sew up the Inter-Ac League title at Malvern's expense. That game will kick off at 1.

Think you might try it? Here is a look at those games:

For Abington (7-2) and Neshaminy (8-2), the game is a rematch of Abington's 28-24 victory in which Ghosts quarterback Sam Kind threw for 233 yards, and receiver Anthony Hensley caught two touchdown passes.

Neshaminy is coming off a difficult 27-20 overtime loss to Pennsbury last week in which it moved the chains just four times in the first half.

While the Redskins, who average 29 points per game, dropped their first meeting against Abington, they were able to secure decisive victories over Council Rock North and Council Rock South, both of whom beat Abington in Weeks 5 and 6.

The Ghosts' record is no fluke, though. Abington hasn't cut any corners, securing a 4-0 road record while allowing a touchdown or less in three of its seven victories.

Council Rock North (6-4) meet North Penn (10-0) and will try to overthrow the top-ranked Knights.

That won't be an easy task. North Penn's offense averages a staggering 36 points per game, and its defense yields an average of only eight points per game. The closest the Knights have come to losing this year was a decisive 28-14 victory over a tough St. Joseph's Prep team in Week 3.

Council Rock North enters the playoffs despite losing its last game, to Council Rock South. It will have to bring its A game - and then some - if it hopes to avoid being the Knights' latest victim.

The Inter-Ac League title will be on the line tomorrow when Chestnut Hill (9-0) visits Malvern Prep (5-4).

Chestnut Hill is coming off a thrilling overtime victory over Haverford School last week in which it captured at least a share of the title. The Blue Devils will look to ride that momentum into tomorrow's game to secure the crown outright.

The Blue Devils are perfect for a reason. Having not scored fewer than 20 points in a game all season, Chestnut Hill's offense, led by highly recruited running back Ibraheim Campbell, has been spectacular. Its defense has been equally impressive, posting two shutouts in the last four games.

Malvern, the defending Inter-Ac League champions, will have extra motivation, though. While Chestnut Hill is guaranteed a piece of the prize, it is all or nothing for Malvern as it defends its title. The Friars have won three of their last four games, including a 28-0 blowout of Episcopal Academy and a decisive 35-14 win over Germantown last week.
