SOUTHEASTERN PENNSYLVANIA TEAM OF THE DECADE

Team, season    Record

1. North Penn, 2003   15-0

The Kevin Akins-led Knights averaged 39.6 points per game en route to their first state crown.

2. Central Bucks West, 2000    14-1

The Bucks reached Hershey before losing to Erie Cathedral Prep, 41-35, in overtime.

3. St. Joseph's Prep, 2003   12-0

Matt Parkhurst, Brian Tracz and Greg Ambrogi were among the defensive leaders.

4. Neshaminy, 2001    15-0

Jamar Brittingham carried 364 times for 2,585 yards and 30 touchdowns.

5. Strath Haven, 2000    15-0

John Mulhern, a 6-foot-1, 210-pound lineman, was one of the area's surest tacklers.

6. Malvern Prep, 2008    10-0

Longtime boss Gaspare "Gamp" Pellegrini called this his best-ever team.

7. St. Joseph's Prep, 2005    10-2

When healthy, these Hawks were a bit better than the 13-0 squad of 2002.

8. Ridley, 2007    13-2

The Green Raiders, led by RB-LB Andrew Hodges, advanced to the state semifinals

9. Pennsbury, 2006    13-2

Jackson Fagan sparked the offense. C.J. Marck was a stalwart on defense.

10. North Penn, 2005    12-2

The rugged and bruising Knights averaged nearly 250 rushing yards per game.
