North Penn notches school's 600th football win

The North Penn football team became the 34th school in the state to record 600 wins in program history on Friday with a 42-13 victory at Central Bucks South.

Justice Henley led with three interceptions, and Ricky Johnson threw two touchdown passes as the Knights, who are ranked third by the Inquirer, topped the No. 19 Titans.

Public League

Boys' Latin 58, Roxborough 14: David Williams rushed for 114 on 10 carries as the Warriors handled the host Indians.

Boys' Latin's defense led as the squad shut out its Public League foe after the first quarter behind three interceptions from Damir Smith-Lockett, Darae Ross, and Duane Clinkscales.

Malik Johnson threw touchdown passes to De-andre Salters and Cory Little, who also had an 80-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.

Frankford 28, West Philadelphia 0: Esky Lopez caught a touchdown pass and returned a punt for a 63-yard score in the Pioneers' road win over the Speedboys. Jordan Price had a 31-yard run for a touchdown, and Edward Leak recovered a fumble in the end zone to tally a defensive touchdown.

Bicentennial League

Bristol 26, Jenkintown 0: Samir Brisbin led with three catches for 79 yards and two touchdowns in the Warriors' road win. Parker Kelley finished the game 5 for 8 passing for 92 yards and two touchdowns.

Boys' Soccer

Pietro Berghella recorded his fourth shutout of Germantown Friend's season as the Tigers topped George School on the road, 2-0.

With the win, Germantown Friends moved to 3-0 in league play.

In other Friends Schools League action, Wyeth Kuhl, Erik Lindrooth, and Chakra Wade had goals in the Academy of New Church's 3-2 win at Shipley.

Catholic League. Marcelo Ibarra had two goals in Father Judge's 5-0 win over visiting Archbishop Carroll. Patrick Kiley, Justin Murawski, and Adam Nork added goals for the Patriots.

Suburban One American. Zach Harley and Jake Welsh scored as Springfield (M) topped host Norristown, 2-0.

Nonleague. Goodwill Agaabadan had six saves in Penn Wood's 1-0 home win over Franklin Towne Charter. Andrew Nmah scored.

Girls' Soccer

Sasha Vassallo had a hat trick in Perkiomen School's 6-0 handling of Tri-County Conference foe Solebury School.

Nonleague. Kayla Robinson's goal in the 79th minute pushed Council Rock North ahead of Villa Maria at home for a 1-0 win. Carly Riggs had eight saves, earning the Indians' eighth shutout of the season.

In other nonleague action, Erin Toburen and Kate Henesey had two goals each in Landsdale Catholic's 4-0 win against visiting Upper Perkiomen.
