Avon Grove state softball title game set for Friday

The PIAA Class 4A softball state championship game Thursday between Avon Grove and Hempfield was postponed because of the threat of heavy rain and is scheduled to be played at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Penn State's Nittany Lion Park.

The PIAA Class 4A softball state championship game Thursday between Avon Grove and Hempfield was postponed because of the threat of heavy rain and is scheduled to be played at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Penn State's Nittany Lion Park.

Avon Grove (24-3) will be trying to win its first state title since the 1970 boys' basketball team won the school's only state championship in any sport.
