Here are some Southeastern Pennsylvania competitors to follow at the Penn Relays:

Boys

400-meter hurdles: Miles Green, St. Joseph's Prep. The sophomore had a clocking of 53.73 seconds at the New York Relays two weeks ago.

Mile: Josh Hoey, Downingtown West. Like Green, Hoey is an up-and-coming sophomore. He placed second in the Pennsylvania Track and Field Coaches Association indoor championships with a time of 4 minutes, 17.45 seconds.

Pole vault: Hatboro-Horsham junior Nicholas Marino cleared 15-feet-6 at the Jack Roddick Invitational last weekend.

3,000 meters: Central Bucks East senior and Navy recruit Jake Brophy gained top honors in 8:54.68 in the 29th annual Council Rock Kiwanis Invitational.

Girls

400-meter hurdles: Brooklynn Broadwater, Springside Chestnut Hill. The senior standout earned the Penn Relays title in 1:00.69 last year. She ran 58.95 in taking first at the Neshaminy Track Classic two weeks ago.

4x400 relay: With Broadwater as the anchor, Springside Chestnut Hill (3:50.95 in winning at the Neshaminy Track Classic) is arguably the favorite. Cheltenham (3:51:46) and North Penn (3:55.08) placed first and second, respectively, at Hatboro-Horsham's Jim Kelly Invitational.

Mile: Conestoga's Dominique Shultz (5:21.25) and Johanna Nasman (5:24.03) had strong efforts at the Colonial Relays in Williamsburg, Va.

High jump: Souderton junior Moira O'Malley won the Twin Valley Raider Invitational last week with a 5-7 showing.
