Pa. Boys: Pa. boys: Green leads Neumann-Goretti past St. Joe's Prep

Neumann-Goretti jumped out to a 31-15 lead in the first half and never relented in a 67-53 victory over visiting St. Joseph's Prep in a Catholic League boys' basketball game Wednesday.

Junior guard Quade Green led all scoring with 27 points, including five three-pointers in the first half. He added 10 rebounds and eight assists. Green has received offers from Louisville, Maryland, Syracuse, Temple, Villanova, and others.

Zane Martin grabbed 15 rebounds while Dhamir Cosby-Roundtree collected eight rebounds and eight blocks.

In other Catholic League action:

Dan Modestine scored 14 points and Mike Ottomano added 10 points to lead visiting Lansdale Catholic to a 58-54 overtime victory over Bishop McDevitt. Cameron Gardner forced the extra period with a three-pointer with five seconds left.

Chris Kuhar hit four foul shots in the final 90 seconds to ice the game in Archbishop Ryan's 54-52 win over visiting Conwell-Egan.

Central. Nick DiCamillo led the game with 17 points as host Marple-Newtown topped Upper Darby, 60-55. The Tigers did well from three-point range as Mike May hit three threes and Mark Dever added two threes.

Inter-Ac. Senior guard and team captain Will Powers had a game-high 17 points and recorded his 1,000th career point on a buzzer-beating shot to end the first half as visiting Malvern Prep routed Springside Chestnut Hill Academy, 90-50.

Germantown Academy led by only six at halftime over host Haverford School before pulling away with a 24-point third quarter to win, 59-41. Devon Goodman led the Patriots with 10 points in the quarter and 26 on the night. Kyle McCloskey scored all 11 of his points in the second half.

Penn-Jersey. Keith Blassingale scored 34 points - 18 of which came in the first half - for New Foundations in a 76-71 win over host Doane Academy. Blassingale shot 7 for 8 from the foul line.
