Shawnee tops Holy Cross in Coaches Tournament

Lexie Palladino scored the winner in the second half, and second-seeded Shawnee downed No. 7 Holy Cross, 2-1, in the girls' quarterfinals of the South Jersey Soccer Coaches Association tournament.

Julianna Bertolino also scored for the hosts.

Christina Corbi assisted on both goals, and Brianna Davis made seven saves.

Nonleague. Gabby Pietrangelo's two goals and an assist led Bishop Eustace to a 5-4 overtime win at Clearview. Hailey McGrath, Alicia Podwojniak, and Clare Monaghan also scored.

Kayla Harris had two goals for host St. Joseph in a 6-2 win over Doane Academy. Taylor Breitzman, Nikki Cirigliano, Katie Lillia, and Jana Martini also scored.

Field Hockey

Sam Derkas scored twice, helping host Seneca defeat Lenape, 3-0, in Olympic Conference action. Abigail Regn had a goal and Kasey Mitchell had an assist.

Burlington County League. Madison Aguanno scored two goals for host Delran in a 4-0 defeat of Maple Shade. Alexis Rider and Becky Howard had assists.

Boys' Soccer

Kyle Leach scored a goal in each half, helping Pitman defeat host Gloucester Catholic, 3-2, in Tri-County Classic play. Pitman is guaranteed at least a share of the Tri-County Classic title. Grant DeClement also had a goal.

Burlington County League. Cody LaCava scored two goals for New Egypt in its 4-1 win on the road against Pennsauken. Dan Ryniec and Andrew Agostinacchio   also scored. Tim Blomgren made 15 saves.
