Central wins Public League golf title

Central claimed the Public League golf team title Wednesday afternoon at Cobbs Creek Golf Course's Olde Course. Central's Kyle Spaulding won the individual crown with a score of 93, and his teammate Sam Greene was second with a 95.

Philadelphia Academy Charter's John Carpineta (96), Anthony Gardener (97), and Masterman's Jack Winter (102) rounded out the top five.

Girls' Golf

Megan Bray (Mount St. Joseph) and Rebecca Reilly (Gwynedd Mercy) both shot 38 to share the title at the Catholic Academies Championship at Honeybrook Golf Club.

Mount St. Joseph won the team championship with 198 points.

Boys' Soccer

Mamadou Sall netted a hat trick, and Kyuma Koleh scored two goals to lift Ben Franklin over visiting Olney, 6-1, in Public League action.

In another Public League game, Northeast dumped host Washington, 3-1. Amro Elbehiry, Adin Hernandez, and Phedel Saye each scored one goal.

Catholic League. Andrew Bracken and Tony DeShayes each scored in St. Joseph's Prep's 2-1 overtime win at Conwell Egan. Francis Maniscalco made ten saves.

Girls Soccer

Syndey Amparo and Haley Ferrer each scored one goal in Downingtown West's 2-0 home win over Kennett in Ches-Mont League play.

Morgan O'Loughlin and Kayla Betrux combined for the shutout.

In another league game, Devon Dehaven's second- half goal lifted Great Valley 1-0 over visiting Downingtown East.
