Pa. boys and girls: Villa Maria edges Notre Dame in field hockey

FIELD HOCKEY NONLEAGUE Villa Maria 4, Notre Dame 3: Annina Iacobucci scored three goals to lead the host Hurricanes. Abby Siana had the other. Mary Kate Neff scored three goals for Notre Dame. Villa Maria is the defending PIAA state Class AA champion. Notre Dame was the 2013 Independent Schools state champion.

NONLEAGUE

Villa Maria 4, Notre Dame 3: Annina Iacobucci scored three goals to lead the host Hurricanes. Abby Siana had the other. Mary Kate Neff scored three goals for Notre Dame. Villa Maria is the defending PIAA state Class AA champion. Notre Dame was the 2013 Independent Schools state champion.

Bonner-Prendergast 4, Ridley 3: Allison Martin, Kaitlin Martin, Kerri Quinn and Melanie Robinson did the scoring for the visitors. Riley Dolan dished out three assists. Maggie Baldini made 12 saves. Emily Johnston, Meg Lynch and Kellie McDermott scored for Ridley.

Lansdale Catholic 3, Germantown Academy 3 (OT): Colbie Cummings, Sarah Opdyke and Gabby Quatrone did the scoring for visiting Lansdale Catholic. Annie Peterson scored twice for Germantown Academy. Mackenzie Pluck also scored a goal.

Penncrest 1, Academy Park 1 (OT): Willa Thompson scored for visiting Penncrest. Riley Street scored for Academy Park.

Westtown 3, Delco Christian 1: Kate DeLuca scored a pair of goals for the visiting Moose. Maddie Barth also scored a goal.

BICENTENNIAL LEAGUE

New Hope-Solebury 3, Jenkintown 0: Sarah Wilson scored twice to lead the home team. Maggie Dougherty added a goal and an assist. Kennedy Luke made three saves.

FRIENDS SCHOOLS LEAGUE

Academy of New Church 6, George School 2: Chelsea Duggan recorded a hat trick for the visitors. Isabella DeMaria, Emma Reuter and Rachel Fink also scored. Mia Civitillo scored two goals for George School.

PIONEER ATHLETIC CONFERENCE

Methacton 4, Upper Perkiomen 1: Olivia Hoover scored two goals for the visitors. Emily Owens and Maddie Alderfer also scored for Methacton. Michaela Swenk scored Upper Perkiomen's goal.

Perkiomen Valley 5, Pope John Paul II 2: Gabby Martina recorded a hat trick for the hosts. Mara Wrzesniewski and Jenna Dickey also scored for Perkiomen Valley.

Souderton 2, North Penn 1: Meredith Moore scored in the second half assisted by Mel Witter to win it for the visitors.

Neshaminy 8, Truman 2: Gabby Farrell, Brooke Mullin and Riley Nyhus did the scoring for the hosts.

Pennsbury 2, Council Rock South 0: Jenna Peters and Riley Rudd scored the goals for the visitors.

Spring-Ford 10, Pottstown 0: Lily Nowakowski scored twice for the home team. Amanda Byrd notched a shutout.

Academy of New Church 5, Jenkintown 0: Camille Green won, 6-0, 6-2, at first singles to lead the home team. Kevyn Deewes won, 6-0, 6-1 at second singles.

Penncrest 3, Kennett 0: Diana Balta had eight kills, Nikki Gargiule had 17 assists and eight aces, Emily Hopkins had six kills and Jordan Schuller had five kills as the visitors won, 25-14, 25-10, 25-18.

CATHOLIC LEAGUE

Archbishop Ryan 1, Cardinal O'Hara 0: Monte Guess scored in the first half to lead the visiting Raiders. Ryan Stock made five saves for the shutout.

La Salle 3, Conwell-Egan 0: Brett Werner delivered a four-save shutout for the hosts. Kevin Lane, Spencer Patton and J.P. Pluck provided the scoring.

PIONEER ATHLETIC CONFERENCE

Perkiomen Valley 1, Pope John Paul II 0: Rafael Leyva scored off an assist from Mike Weir in the 30th minute to lead the hosts. Aaron Lemma made 14 saves for Pope John Paul II.

SUBURBAN ONE CONTINENTAL

Central Bucks South 2, Quakertown 0: Colin Fagan had a goal and an assist for the visiting team. Connor Bethel scored the other goal.

TRI-COUNTY LEAGUE

Perkiomen School 3, West-Mont Christian 0: Mike Gama scored twice for the hosts. Kentaro Masirin also scored.

NONLEAGUE

Episcopal Academy 7, Phelps 4: Andrew Schellenger, Quinn Dudek, Ramon Gallegos, Matt De PIllis, Nate Ekpo, Spencer Higgins and Sam Wilson did the scoring for the visitors. Alvin Dahn had a hat trick for Phelps.
