Southeastern Pa. boys' soccer players to watch

It would be impossible to list every boys' soccer player worth watching in Southeastern Pa. this season. But here's a list of 10 players - some established, some up-and-coming - that we think will live up to that label.

It would be impossible to list every boys' soccer player worth watching in Southeastern Pa. this season. But here's a list of 10 players - some established, some up-and-coming - that we think will live up to that label.

Players mentioned in this space in previous seasons will not be repeated.

Shane Bradley, Haverford School: With the Villanova recruit in charge on the back line, the Fords gave up only seven goals last season. The senior is incredibly difficult to beat, in part due to his stellar soccer IQ.

Justin Chapuis, Pennsbury: The senior center back was pivotal to the Falcons' tough defense last season. With several key players now graduated, his solid presence in the back is crucial for Pennsbury to contend.

Peter Ferraro, Unionville: As a junior, the forward netted 13 goals, making him one of the top returning scoring threats in the Ches-Mont League this season.

Ronan Higgins, Shipley: The explosive sophomore came off the bench last year to score 13 goals, including some clutch tallies.

Nick Jannelli, Springfield (Delco): One of the top players in the Central League, the senior midfielder netted 15 goals last year.

Matt Lingerman, Holy Ghost Prep: One would be hard-pressed to find a more successful keeper than the Firebirds senior, who has captured two state titles since taking over the starting job.

Dylan McDonald, Neshaminy: A playmaker who will be pressed to jump start the attack and create goal-scoring opportunities, the junior center midfielder will anchor the strongest part of this Neshaminy team. He can also pick up some of the scoring slack.

Mason Sellig, Conestoga: He made varsity as a freshman, rare for this excellent Pioneers program, but it was sophomore year that solidified him as a staunch defender. The senior will be pivotal part of a team with a wealth of talent.

Mark Tobin, Roman Catholic: The best goalie in the Catholic League last season, he kept the Cahillites in a ton of games. He'll look to improve on his 11 shutouts from a year ago.

Max Zandi, West Chester Henderson: A midfielder who made quite a name for himself as a sophomore, the versatile junior will look to create chances offensively and be called upon to stop opponents defensively.
