Everyone needs reminders from time to time, and the Radnor girls' lacrosse team is no different.

After falling to Harriton in the District 1 tournament, the Raiders reminded themselves what they're capable of, and pulled off a thrilling 8-7 overtime victory Saturday in a PIAA quarterfinals rematch at West Chester East.

After Hannah Proctor scored the tying goal with 1 minute and 50 seconds left in regulation, coach Brooke Fritz reminded her team again.

"I just told them that they had controlled the second half of the game," Fritz said. "The game was in their hands, and they just needed to be patient and wait for the open shot."

The patience paid off, big time.

Katie Quinn, who had opened the scoring for Radnor, found a seam in the defense. She scored the game-winner with 1:45 left.

"We didn't call in a play or anything," Fritz said. "We just had the right people in there. We were doing really well freelancing and getting those looks."

Emily Games came up big for the Raiders (21-2), who will meet Central League rival Conestoga in the semifinals Tuesday. Games netted four goals, including one that cut the Harriton (20-4) lead to 7-6 with 2:22 to go.

Just moments before Games' tally, Radnor senior goalie Maddie Lally jumped from the net to intercept a pass, shutting down Harriton's attempt to run out the clock and shifting the momentum.

"That was a huge game-turner right there," Fritz said. "They had a two-goal lead at the time, and I think that her doing that gave everyone else the belief that they could do their role."
