Kyle Hoops scored in the first two minutes of overtime Saturday to lead visiting Great Valley to a 3-2 upset of second-seeded Neshaminy in the second round.

Plymouth Whitemarsh 2, Lower Merion 1: Alex Bilodeau and David Reina scored to propel No. 5 Plymouth Whitemarsh past No. 21 Lower Merion at home. With the win, the Colonials will make their first appearance in the quarterfinals.

Conestoga 1, West Chester East 0 (2 OT): Jack Braun carried the ninth-seeded Pioneers over No. 25 West Chester East at home, scoring on a penalty kick with 6 minutes, 30 seconds left in the extra period.

Pennsbury 2, Unionville 2 (2 OT): No. 1 Unionville advanced on penalty kicks in Kennett Square, 6-5, over the 17th-seeded Falcons. A.J. Bernstein scored the decisive penalty kick.

District 1 Class AAA Girls' Soccer

Shea McCarty netted the winner for visiting No. 13 Central Bucks West in a 1-0 upset of fourth-seeded Boyertown in the second round. Grace Bendon made 11 saves in the shutout.

Central Bucks East 2, West Chester East 1: Emma Loving scored both goals for the second-seeded hosts. Briana Girard netted a second-half goal for No. 18 West Chester East.

Pennsbury 1, Downingtown West 0: Mary Webb's second-half goal sent No. 1 Pennsbury past 16th-seeded Downingtown West at home.

Cross-Country

Malvern Prep won the Pennsylvania Independent Schools boys' championship at Belmont Plateau, finishing with 48 points. Germantown Academy's Sam Ritz came in first at 16 minutes, 1 second.

Germantown Friends recorded 51 points and won the girls' title. Terri Turner of Springside Chestnut Hill was the top runner at 20:02.

Golf

Haverford School won the Pennsylvania Independent Schools Athletic Association golf tournament at Brookside Country Club in Pottstown, scoring 244. Minuette Laessig of Perkiomen School came in first, shooting a 75.

Boys' Basketball

Jack Rutter stepped down as Bishop McDevitt boys' basketball coach after 19 seasons. He compiled a 184-265 record.
