Pennsbury rocks C.B. South

On the second play from scrimmage, when Josh Adams turned a short pass into a 61-yard touchdown, many on hand at Pennsbury had a feeling that the star tailback was just getting started for Central Bucks South.

On the second play from scrimmage, when Josh Adams turned a short pass into a 61-yard touchdown, many on hand at Pennsbury had a feeling that the star tailback was just getting started for Central Bucks South.

But shortly after, the Notre Dame recruit went down with a left-ankle injury.

The host Falcons then seized control of the Suburban One League National Conference showdown, notching eight unanswered scores and romping to a 55-7 win Friday night in Fairless Hills.

"From my point of view, it didn't change anything when [Adams] went down," Pennsbury senior fullback Charles Snorweah said. "He's a great running back, but I was confident we were going to win either way."

Pushing the Titans around at the line of scrimmage, the hosts netted 445 yards on the ground on 58 attempts.

"That's a bunch of big, tough, strong kids," C.B. South first-year coach Tom Hetrick said. "It's a nasty combination to stop."

In the first half, when the Falcons (8-1 overall, 5-1 conference) built a 27-7 advantage, the Rutgers-bound Snorweah carried 13 times for 125 yards and two scores. He added a 69-yard TD reception in the second quarter.

"From watching them on film, we were confident about handling their D-line and linebackers," said Snorweah, who finished with 171 rushing yards on 20 tries.

In addition to strengthening their bid to gain one of the top seeds in the District 1 Class AAAA tournament, Galen Snyder's squad kept alive its bid to defend its National Conference crown.

Before exiting, Adams managed just 4 yards on five carries.

"When he was out there, we were hitting him," Snyder said.

In the second half, Adams lay on the bench with his leg up and ankle wrapped.

"He'll be OK," Hetrick said. "I don't think it's anything major."

Pennsbury's defense, keyed by linebacker Luke Snyder (second-quarter interception) and lineman Jeremiah Wells, limited the Titans (7-2, 5-1) to 48 yards on 21 rushes.
