When Lansdale Catholic coach Paul Suder sent Ashley Seal to the circle, he did so with full confidence in his starter, and his team.
The decision to let the sophomore pitch paid off, as Seal threw a five-inning no-hitter in the Crusaders' 13-0 win Thursday over Franklin Towne Charter in the District 12 Class AAA softball final at Arcadia University.
"She really hit her spots and had good control," Suder said. "She stayed ahead in the counts and made them chase pitches."
In the second inning, Kristen Szczepaniak and Alyssa Messina slugged back-to-back home runs to give Lansdale Catholic a 7-0 lead.
After the solo shots, Greta Sheridan almost hit the team's third in a row, powering the ball to the fence for a double.
Bridey Harkins went 2 for 3 with a pair of RBIs and two runs. Jenna Gibbons had two hits and drove in a run.
