Mike Cooke wrapped up his breakout week with a career day to lead Sun Valley to a 10-9 win Saturday at Interboro in nonleague boys' lacrosse.
Cooke scored his fifth goal with 1 minute, 45 seconds left in the game on a shot from the right side for the game-winner. The tally gave him a career-high nine points in the game and 18 in his last three outings.
In other nonleague play:
Tom Cain and Cole Miller each scored three times to help Archbishop Wood edge host Unionville, 12-11.
Dawson Faust turned aside 15 shots, and Ridley beat visiting Abington, 11-8.
Matt Vetter and Matt Heim each netted four goals to help Central Bucks East escape Avon Grove with an 11-9 win.
Garret Trucksess' two goals lifted Germantown Academy to a 4-1 win against visiting Hatboro-Horsham.
Christian Xitas had four goals and two assists in Marple Newtown's 17-9 win at Kennett.
Paddy Black, Dan Buckman, Ethan Eisenhard, and Evan Wolf each scored three goals in Lower Merion's 16-7 home win over West Chester East.
Checking for Cancer Tournament. Grant Ament led 13 Haverford School scorers with three goals, and the tournament hosts beat La Costa Canyon (Calif.), 19-4. Ament also had three assists.
Suburban One Continental. Brendan McGrath went for six goals to lead Central Bucks South to a 13-6 home win over Souderton.
Baseball
Zach Zappo drove in two runs with a base hit in a six-run sixth inning, and Upper Perkiomen held on for a 7-5 home win against Pottstown in the Pioneer Athletic Conference.
Elsewhere in the Pioneer, Jim Shomberg and Kyle Lowery each had three hits and helped Methacton rally from a 5-2 deficit in the sixth inning to take a 12-8 win in eight innings at Perkiomen Valley.
Ches-Mont National. Frank Chubb held Avon Grove to one run on five hits over seven innings to help Bishop Shanahan earn a 2-1 road win.
Ches-Mont American. Ian Slicer had three hits, including a double, and knocked in three runs for visiting Kennett, which outslugged Sun Valley, 15-11.
Friends Schools. Jordan Spector had a double and a pair of RBIs in Shipley's 8-3 home win against George School.
Nonleague. Ryan Coonahan had a double and triple and scored two runs in La Salle's 4-3 home win against Haverford School.
Joey Pena led off the seventh inning with a double to ignite Perkiomen School's three-run uprising in a come-from-behind, 5-4 win at Springside Chestnut Hill. After a hit batter and a two-run error on a fly ball, Josh Cruz lifted a sacrifice fly to score Tom Aarons with the winning run.
Matt Marez hit a go-ahead grand slam in the second inning as Archbishop Carroll rolled to a 13-2 win at Radnor. Marez added another home run in the fifth inning and had six RBIs during the day.
Brian Luxton struck out 11 in five no-hit innings to earn the win in Penn Charter's 6-2 triumph against visiting Hill School. Luxton left the game because of a high pitch count.
Ben Burman and Korey Leidheiser each knocked in two runs in Episcopal Academy's 4-2 win over visiting Lawrenceville.
Tyler Clark had two double, two runs, and three RBIs in St. Joseph's Prep's 13-2 win at Bonner-Prendergast.
